Alaska Hunting Trips for the ultimate Backwoods Adventure.

Alaska Hunting trips are an Alaskan tradition. Native Alaskans depended on hunting and fishing as a means to survive. Before the age of commercial freight, food was harvested almost exclusively from nature. Many of Alaska's communities are located along rivers or natural paths of Game. Caribou and Moose are the primary meat animal for many Alaskans today, as many Alaskans still live in the bush, and depend on the resource, just as those of years gone by. Hunting in Alaska has also become an adventure industry, allowing others to share in the thrill of hunting big game.

Hunting in Alaska is as diverse as the state itself. Alaska offers world class hunting for Moose, Caribou, Brown Bear, Dall Sheep, Mountain Goat, and Bison among other species. You can hunt the mountains, the rivers, the coastline, the tundra, virtually any terrain or area you chose. It is common to be able to take multiple species on a single hunt. If it is your first trip to Alaska, to increase your chances, I would highly recommend using a guide. In fact, it may be required. Guided Alaska Hunting trips are not inexpensive, but the experience of hunting in the wilds of Alaska with someone that knows where to go, can be priceless.

If you are a hunter, this is probably the best way to experience Alaska the way the natives and the pioneers of Alaska experienced our great state. Many of Alaska’s guides run hunting trips that are spent in small camps and not in Lodges. These hunts are geared for the adventurous soul. Spending 7-10 days in the outback, with limited resources, hiking and hunting, floating or boating is an experience you’ll long remember. I would highly recommend finding a good guide and consider seeing Alaska from a hunting camp.
